Harry Kane, Kieran Trippier, Jordan Pickford and Jesse Lingard will play against Sweden for the quarter-finals in Russia, but they might not be shaking the hands of those on the opposing teams anytime soon.

Captain Harry – whose staggering net worth has been revealed, as well as details of his pregnant fiancée Katie Goodland –  has reportedly been warned against shaking hands post game, along with the rest of his team mates.

Gareth Southgate – who has become a surprise fashion icon over his waistcoat – has allegedly been advised to prevent his team shaking hands for medical reasons.

The England football team have reportedly been given medical instruction to fist bump instead of shaking hands to avoid getting ill during the tournament.

It comes after inews uncovered research at the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences at Aberystwyth University in Wales.

Their research found fist bumps are 20 times more hygienic than handshakes.

It might seem extreme, but the preventative measures have been put in place to avoid viruses spreading and players getting sick.
